About this grant

Many municipalities in Michigan lack the technical expertise or staff time to drive down their utility costs through conservation, let alone lead communitywide energy initiatives. As a result, important opportunities to deal with municipal budget shortfalls while simultaneously addressing climate change are lost. Based in southeast Michigan, EcoWorks offers a full package of energy management technical expertise to municipalities in the region. With this grant, the grantee and partner organizations will expand energy management services to approximately 30 midsized cities in southeast Michigan.
