About this grant

The United Nations Foundation was established in 1988 in order to support the goals and objectives of the United Nations. The grantee has been actively engaged in the efforts to provide electricity for poor rural communities in developing countries through the establishment of the Energy Access Practitioner Network. Previous support funded a directory of investment and funding opportunities for companies involved in the Energy Access Practitioner Network. Over the next two years, the grantee will continue to accelerate the deployment of clean energy minigrids in developing countries, share knowledge among network members, and develop member-financing partnerships.
