About this grant

The project goal is to increase the effectiveness and sustainability of grassroots, nonprofit initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe by encouraging social entrepreneurship approaches to social development. To this end, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs – UnLtd will expand the Global Social Entrepreneurship Network to several Central and Eastern European countries, including Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania. To accomplish this, the grantee will: 1) establish partnerships with intermediary support organizations interested in advancing the concept and practice of social entrepreneurship; 2) strengthen their capacity to provide training, technical assistance, seed funding, and networking opportunities to social entrepreneurs in these countries; 3) connect partners to peers from around the world; and 4) and facilitate the exchange of experiences and ideas among them. The Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs – UnLtd is a U.K.-registered charity set up in 2002 with the mission to support social entrepreneurs at the early stage of their development and to enable them to thrive and grow through tailored packages of funds, practical support, and networking.
