About this grant
This grant will provide support to the St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center for the Employment Preparation program. Serving residents on the north side of Flint, the program works with individuals who are structurally unemployed and need a broad array of wraparound services to adequately prepare them to find and retain employment. The program will continue to expand its outreach to area employers for future job placements and establish an alumni network offering peer support to program participants and graduates. The grantee will also develop a more robust evaluation and tracking system to evaluate program successes and outcomes including graduate job retention. Providing residents with opportunities for job training and career advancement will help build Flint’s economic resilience to recover from the water crisis.
