Founded in 1999, Mongabay.org is a top source of environmental news, analysis, information, and inspiration on the Internet. Over the past grant period, the grantee produced original stories on the impacts of large-scale hydroelectric development and finance in the Amazon, with a focus on the Tapajos River basin. Over the next grant period, the grantee will build on its body of reporting by covering finance and development of energy and infrastructure and its impacts on environmental sustainability in the greater Amazon.
