About this grant
This grant will provide general purpose support to CFLeads, a national network of United States community foundations whose goal is to build stronger communities. The grantee accomplishes this by advancing effective practices, sharing knowledge, and galvanizing action on critical issues. The grantee serves community foundations through its peer learning products: Community Leadership Networks, Executive Leadership Institutes, and Issue Networks. It also provides technical assistance, research, and resource materials on best practices and convenes a biennial forum. In the last year alone, the grantee worked with 750 individuals from 370 community foundations. From 2019-2021, the grantee will continue its educational, technical assistance, research, and informational offerings, specifically supporting issue networks in the areas of children’s savings accounts, equity, and links with Latin American community foundations. Established in 1991 as the Coalition of Community Foundations for Youth under the Greater Kansas City Community Foundations, CFLeads became an independent nonprofit organization in 2017.
