About this grant
This grant provides continuing support for Washington University’s research, communications, policy development, and technical assistance efforts aimed at advancing children’s savings account strategies at the state and national levels. In the short term, the grantee’s goal is to expand opportunities for all families to save for their children’s education, and in doing so, increase postsecondary education aspirations, access, and completion rates, particularly among low- to moderate-income students. Long term, the grantee views children’s savings accounts as the initial phase of a broader effort to embed inclusive and lifelong asset-building opportunities into the fabric of domestic social policy in ways that support educational, economic development, and financial security goals.
