About this grant
Through its Michigan Communities for Financial Empowerment program, the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan works to expand and strengthen financial security in communities across the state. Renewal support from the Mott Foundation will enable the grantee to expand the footprint of children’s savings accounts programs across the state. During the grant period, the grantee will raise awareness of children’s savings accounts, and support the planning and implementation of the strategy in at least three new sites. To accomplish these goals, the grantee will provide local communities with technical assistance and peer-learning opportunities, engage new stakeholders as champions for college savings strategies, and expand knowledge about the benefits of children’s savings accounts throughout Michigan. Based in Lansing, the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan is a nonprofit trade association serving community economic development professionals in Michigan.
