About this grant
Genesee County Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Its mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. The grantee works with neighborhood associations, block clubs, and other local grassroots groups on leadership development and other forms of capacity building. This grant will provide support for the Flint BRAND Program that builds the capacity of neighborhood groups to conceptualize, plan, and assist in implementing projects. These projects will have an immediate visible impact on neighborhood conditions and improve Flint residents’ quality of life.
