About this grant
The Minnesota Environmental Partnership is the largest and most active coalition of environmental and conservation groups in the state. Since 1998 the grantee has helped its member groups convene, communicate and collaborate to protect Minnesota’s bounty of water and land resources to ensure that all residents prosper from a sustainable future. Today, the need for a coalition that brings together conservationists with non-traditional partners to address issues cutting across cultural, social and economic barriers is more important than ever. With this grant, the grantee will help member groups advance environmental issues in the state, including efforts to strengthen and diversify state funding. The Minnesota Environmental Partnership will also expand its operations to protect the Great Lakes, and implement a new strategic plan that calls for forging stronger ties with indigenous groups, working with community groups seeking access to safe water and addressing other environmental justice issues.
