About this grant

Instituto Socioambiental supports efforts to promote distributed renewable energy access solutions for isolated Amazon communities in Brazil and to overcome barriers to the expansion of clean energy in isolated communities. This grant increase will promote the participation of indigenous peoples and local communities in the Brazilian Amazon state of Roraima in a series of convenings to build a state-wide renewable electricity plan, using solar photovoltaic, wind, and biomass in this remote region.
