About this grant
Conectas is a Brazilian nongovernmental agency, founded in 2001, working on strengthening social and environmental governance and accountability of development finance institutions. Over the past grant period, the grantee helped strengthen transparency and social environmental governance at the Brazilian Development Bank and New Development Bank, and monitored the implementation of the first New Development Bank financed energy project in Brazil. Over the next grant period, the grantee will evaluate the advances and setbacks civil society has made after seven years of focusing on social and environmental governance at major development finance institutions. Conectas will also strengthen its collaboration with impacted communities to improve their access to these institutions.
