About this grant
The Environmental Law & Policy Center is a leading public interest environmental legal advocacy organization. With previous support from the Mott Foundation, the grantee has built a record from publicly available information that enforcement of the Clean Water Act—the bedrock law that protects Great Lakes water quality—has fallen markedly in the Midwest. With renewed support, the grantee will continue this research, publicly release the information and pursue strategies to hold the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency accountable. In addition, the grantee will monitor runoff from manure treatment facilities for large-scale farm animal operations in Ohio and Wisconsin and push for necessary pollution reduction measures.
