About this grant
This grant will provide support for Genesee Health System to operate and provide a variety of resources at three community Help Centers in Flint. The Help Centers centralize food including lead-mitigating food and produce, bottled water (when available), filters, and cartridges. Health and human service providers are also available to assist residents on-site at all three locations. The Help Centers, which were previously managed by the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, will be managed by the grantee, in partnership with several organizations already assisting residents as a result of the Flint water crisis, including area churches, United Way of Genesee County, and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan will continue as a core partner for food and nutrition support.
