About this grant
Ecoa-Ecology and Action is a science-driven nongovernmental organization working to strengthen social and environmental standards of public investment in energy and infrastructure in South America. Over the previous project period, the grantee worked on social and environmental safeguards review at the Inter-American Development Bank, monitored Chinese and Brazilian development finance and focused on social and environmental governance of emblematic energy and infrastructure, including the completion of the strategic environmental assessment of 144 hydroelectric projects in the Upper Paraguay basin. This grant renewal will continue work on monitoring investments in energy and infrastructure and emblematic projects, such as hydroelectric and hydroway expansion in the region.
