About this grant
The East Africa Philanthropy Network was established in 2003 to support the growth and development of philanthropy in East Africa. The grantee connects various philanthropic organizations in the region to build the philanthropy and civil society sectors. Significant achievements include establishing and supporting national forums in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda; hosting an annual regional conference that brings together business, government and civil society; and connecting the East Africa region to the global philanthropy ecosystem. In addition, the grantee has championed efforts to collect data that demonstrates the levels of giving in the region. This grant will enable the East Africa Philanthropy Network to deepen its work with national forums, produce knowledge to enhance the work of members and continue to connect the region to the global philanthropy sector.
