About this grant
The aim of the project is to promote the growth and development of philanthropy in East Africa by connecting various philanthropic organizations in the region. Established in 2003, the East Africa Philanthropy Network brings together foundations, trusts and other philanthropic organizations to strengthen their work and build a community of practice. Past support enabled the grantee to coordinate its members’ efforts in response to COVID-19, host learning workshops in response to the capacity building needs identified by members, and build a data portal to provide comprehensive data about the state of philanthropy in the region. This grant will enable the East Africa Philanthropy Network to support national forums, continue to generate data on the state of philanthropy in the region, and create platforms for networking and knowledge sharing for its members.
