About this grant

The program goal is to foster the development of a conducive environment for philanthropy across countries by providing rigorous, comparative data and by raising awareness and understanding of philanthropy, especially in developing countries. The most recent version of the index was published in April 2018. The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University has since been promoting, presenting and educating on the research as well as working on the newest iteration of the report, set to be published in first quarter 2022. Following the publication, the grantee will create online and printed educational materials and organize events in the United States and globally to share results and generate debate. The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University was founded in 2012. Its mission is to increase the understanding of philanthropy and improve its practice worldwide through critical inquiry, interdisciplinary research, teaching, training and civic engagement.
