Strengthening Community Paralegals in Ukraine

The Ukrainian Legal Aid Foundation has been an important actor in the growing ecosystem of accessible justice services in Ukraine. The need for community-based paralegals is significant given the variety of physical and financial barriers to accessing distant services. Drawing on growing experience in Ukraine and extensive experience of paralegal development abroad, the grantee will develop a specialized online training course for these community justice actors. The grantee will aim to train 300 paralegals over the initial grant period and introduce a protocol for regional supervision and mentoring of new paralegals to assist with particularly challenging issues and ensure that training standards are being met. The Ukrainian Legal Aid Foundation works to ensure access to justice in Ukraine through the support and provision of legal aid services and through the improving standards of justice provision.
