About this grant

The purpose of the project is to implement transformative projects that leave sustainable, positive impact on neighborhoods. The Genesee County Habitat for Humanity works with neighborhood associations, block clubs and other local grassroots groups on leadership development and other forms of capacity building. This grant will provide support for the Flint BRAND Program, which builds the capacity of neighborhood groups to conceptualize, plan and assist in implementing projects. These projects will have an immediate visible impact on neighborhood conditions and improve Flint residents’ quality of life. Founded in 1990, the grantee is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Its mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope.
