About this grant
The project goal is to increase access to justice for poor and marginalized communities in South Africa. To this end, ProBono.Org will work closely with community advice offices in the Gauteng province of South Africa. Key interventions include back-up legal services, capacity-building, and financial support to community advice offices. The grantee is a non-partisan civil society organization that subscribes to the values of transformative constitutionalism, the rule of law, and social justice. Its primary focus is to harness the skills and expertise of legal practitioners to deliver pro bono civil legal assistance to organizations working for social justice and to expand access to justice for low-income, vulnerable, and marginalized communities.
