About this grant
The goal of this project is to support community foundations in Africa to understand and apply the sustainable development goals framework in their daily work. Previous Mott Foundation support has enabled SGS Consulting to work with several community foundations, and their support organizations, in the region to produce case studies that illustrate how community foundations are contributing to achieving global goals. To build on this work, the grantee will conduct research on the experience of community foundations in applying a sustainable development goal framework to their work. In addition, the grantee will: 1) support the community foundations to monitor their performance against the indicators; 2) support connections and conversations on the goals in the region; and 3) develop a series of publications to put a spotlight on how community foundations are responding to the sustainable development goals. The focus of the project will continue to be in southern Africa, with a specific focus on South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Tanzania.
