Recruiting and Retaining Diverse Educators

About this grant

This renewal grant will support The Education Trust’s continuing work to diversify the educator workforce by promoting strategies that build pipelines for afterschool and out-of-school staff of color to become teachers. Goals planned for the renewal grant period include: 1) educating federal and state policymakers about viable strategies, and 2) conducting additional research to inform the field’s understanding of the best ways to recruit, prepare and support more diverse educators. Based in Washington, D.C., the grantee is a research and advocacy organization working to close opportunity gaps and raise achievement for students of color and students from low-income families.
