About this grant
Asia’s development finance landscape has changed rapidly over the past decade. Chinese investments in developing countries have increased exponentially and present a major shift in the source and structure of development finance. To address the environmental and social impacts of Chinese development finance, Inclusive Development International was established in 2012 to support and build the capacity of communities affected by these investments. The grantee has been key in raising awareness of the need to strengthen the environmental and social policies of China-influenced development finance institutions, particularly the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Over the next grant period, the grantee will undertake work to inform civil society about key developments in Chinese development finance overseas, research and disseminate actionable data on Chinese investment chains and influence the trajectory of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s internal standards and practices.
