About this grant

Access to affordable energy continues to be a major development challenge facing the world’s poor. With past Mott Foundation support, Oxfam America, an international development organization, has engaged with international financial institutions to advance clean energy solutions around the world, particularly in Africa. With this grant renewal, the grantee aims to expand its clean energy efforts to East Asia and other geographies that are facing similar threats of poor environmental, social and governance practices within the energy sector. Through a range of advocacy activities, Oxfam America’s efforts will primarily center around influencing donor institutions and national governments to shift their finance flows and energy interventions towards pro-poor clean energy access.
