About this grant

The Instituto Socioambiental is a Brazilian social-environmental nongovernmental organization with decades of expertise working with Indigenous communities in the Amazon. Over the past project period, the grantee worked with energy distributors and renewable energy networks to strengthen a new Brazilian federal program, More Light for the Amazon, and expanded its off-grid renewable demonstration projects in the Brazilian Amazon. This grant renewal will support the grantee to continue its work with energy regulators and renewable energy networks and consolidate its monitoring and management systems of renewable energy models in isolated Amazon communities.
