About this grant
Nearly 800 million people live without access to electricity. Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, through its Shine Campaign project, aims to address this global challenge by calling on leaders in the faith, philanthropic and nonprofit sectors to make principled investments in clean, affordable energy that put the most vulnerable communities first. Over the last two years, the Shine Campaign project has successfully worked to unlock finance for energy access and build a community of practice among donors and practitioners in the field. With continued Mott support, the grantee will deepen and expand its work, including the launch of investment and regranting facilities that deliver financial resources to community-led clean energy enterprises in remote communities of Africa and Asia.
