About this grant

The Social Change Assistance Trust is a grantmaking organization established in 1984 to promote human rights and social justice by making grants to community-based organizations. It supports programs that promote access to justice, gender equality, youth development, and local economic development. Past support enabled the grantee to fund community advice offices in the Eastern, Western, and Northern Cape provinces; train and mentor paralegals and management committees in community advice offices; explore the establishment of a youth fund; and strengthen community-driven philanthropy by encouraging local fundraising. This grant will support the Social Change Assistance Trust to implement the Dullah Omar School for paralegalism to provide training to paralegals from across the country.
