About this grant
This general purposes grant will help to establish a new Tanzanian-led non-governmental organization, the E-LICO Foundation. The E-LICO Foundation brings together the experience and expertise of Tanzanian energy access professionals, who want to improve rural livelihoods by the use of solar powered agricultural equipment. This grant will assist in the establishment of its organizational system and infrastructure as well as expand the network of stakeholders and partnerships. In addition, the grantee’s staff will work with local farmers and their communities to develop and implement pilot solar drip irrigation projects in key regions of Tanzania.
