About this grant

China’s development finance institutions have more assets than all other actors in the multilateral finance system. Those institutions invest in energy and infrastructure projects around the world, often resulting in environmental damage and harm to local communities, as well as contributing to climate change. The Global Development Policy Center at Boston University has become a major research center analyzing the impacts of Chinese development finance and providing open-access data to researchers and policymakers in China and in countries that receive Chinese finance. With this grant, the grantee will continue its collaborative research and policy dialogues with governments, civil society, the private sector and development finance institutions. In addition, this grant will also support a China Global Fellows program, aimed at building a new generation of scholar-researchers on these issues.
