About this grant

Since its inception in 1996, with significant support from the Mott Foundation, Freshwater Future has provided over $4 million through 1,200 grants for capacity building and technical support to groups working to protect and restore the waters of the region. During the previous grant period, the grantee has made an average of over $22,000 in technical services available to partner organizations to support and enhance their communications capacity. The grantee has also made available training videos on a variety of topics that support the community of freshwater organizations in the Great Lakes region. During the next grant period, Freshwater Future will expand the pool of organizations receiving direct technical support and continue to provide training and tools to other organizations to more effectively utilize communications to advance organizational objectives.
