About this grant

The Ecology Center is a Michigan-based organization with extensive experience and a national reputation of excellence for addressing toxic chemical science, health impacts and solutions to contamination problems. With prior Mott support, the grantee led the formation of the PFAS Action Network, a coalition of community-based organizations, state and national groups working together to support each other and coordinate efforts to protect communities from the class of toxic chemicals known as PFAS. Working together in the first year, the groups established an operating structure, formed a steering committee, hired staff, launched the network and identified policy priorities. With renewed support, the Ecology Center will assist and coordinate community member groups, convene meetings, develop communications materials and provide contract support to network members and partners.
