Synergy: Unlocking Potential in the European Philanthropy Support Ecosystem

The project goal is to enhance the professionalism and effectiveness of European foundations and their national-level support organizations. To this end, the Donors and Foundations Networks in Europe, a network of 30 donor associations from 28 European countries, will strengthen the capacity of the network to share learning and jointly develop the skills and knowledge necessary to support and grow philanthropy in Europe. Through an annual conference, smaller periodic workshops and meetings, and peer-to-peer exchanges, staff from foundations and national associations will have the opportunity to learn from their colleagues in the sector as well as from other stakeholders and experts. The Donors and Foundations Networks in Europe was established as an informal network in 2009 and operated as a project of the Spanish Association of Foundations. In 2018, the grantee registered as an independent Belgian not-for-profit association based in Brussels.
