About this grant

This grant will support the Helping Young People to Employment Program. The program is managed by Faith Foundation Resources, a nonprofit dedicated to working with low-income and at-risk individuals to help better their lives. The goal of the project is to prepare young people ages 16-24 for work. Participants learn about job training and the skills needed to become productive and responsible members of society. Courses focus on job readiness, learning the fundamentals of interpersonal skills and financial literacy. After completion of an eight-week training program, participants are eligible to be placed into 20 to 30 hours of part-time employment. Metro Community Development, a long-time Foundation grantee, will serve as a fiduciary for Faith Foundation Resources.
