About this grant
This grant supports the establishment of the William S. White Fund for Innovation in Community Philanthropy at the Council of Michigan Foundations. The permanently endowed fund will support an array of programs and initiatives, including possible fellowships, internships, research, pilot projects, study visits, consulting, awards, and other activities that will advance the knowledge and practice of community philanthropy. The fund will honor the legacy of William S. White, as a founder of the Council of Michigan Foundations and as a strong supporter of community foundations and community philanthropy. The grantee is a statewide association of over 300 grantmakers that provides its members with educational programs, technical assistance, networking opportunities, advocacy with policymakers and regulators, and collaboration with leading national and regional philanthropic associations.
