About this grant
The program goal is to map and assess the organizational infrastructure for the nonprofit and philanthropic sector in the U.S. The New Venture Fund will act as a fiscal sponsor to pool funds provided by at least five U.S. infrastructure funders and commission research to develop a shared social sector typology and map. This, in turn, will be used to: 1) assess the value of the current social sector infrastructure and how it may need to evolve in light of external trends; 2) identify areas where strategic funding can help position the infrastructure to address future challenges; and 3) encourage additional investments aimed at strengthening the capacity of infrastructure organizations currently and in the future. Established in 2006, the New Venture Fund provides a platform to support innovative and effective public interest projects.
