About this grant
The Great Lakes Environmental Law Center is a nonprofit environmental law organization headquartered in Michigan that provides support to community members facing challenges in securing clean and affordable drinking water and healthy natural water resources. With previous support from the Mott Foundation, the grantee has helped Michigan residents navigate legal approaches to address water challenges and identified solutions for various water issues. The grantee has assisted groups working on water quality, drinking water affordability and the protection of lakes, wetlands and streams. With renewed support, the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center will continue its services to address ongoing water issues, such as contamination from toxic and persistent chemicals and water diversions from the Great Lakes basin.
