About this grant

The Canadian Environmental Law Association is a nationwide organization that provides legal aid, education, outreach and access to the federal decision-making process for residents of Ontario and Quebec. With previous support from the Mott Foundation, the grantee has provided trusted analysis and guidance for decision-makers and the public on Great Lakes issues, including water contaminants, watershed planning and drinking water protection. With renewed support, the grantee will expand its network, deepen connections with indigenous communities and educate on sound water policies in the Great Lakes. The Canadian Environmental Law Association will lead efforts to promote safe drinking water, expedite the lead line removal process and cultivate strong local organizations to protect watersheds.
