About this grant
The program goal is to encourage community foundations to advance the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level. To this end, the Southwest Florida Community Foundation will conduct a two-year research and development project to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals as the guiding framework for its work. Activities will include: 1) hiring a full-time animator and data analyst to coordinate with staff and others to articulate, organize, and utilize the goals as the primary design and assessment framework for the organization; 2) acquiring a high-end data analytics tool; 3) issuing reports regarding using the Sustainable Development Goals framework for its local grantmaking; 4) analyzing donor-advised and field-of-interest funds and aligning them to the goals; 5) initiating discussions with donors to demonstrate how the grantee can tie its local and national giving to a global framework; and 6) issuing a report for the field on the experience of deploying the goals as a framework for traditional community foundation functions.
