About this grant
The Community of Solidary Organizations is a network of 240 nongovernmental organizations with a mission to build a community of strengthened and connected organizations that can influence the development of a just and sustainable society in Chile. A group of Chilean stakeholders, led by a current Mott grantee charged with raising awareness about the community foundation concept in Chile, has collectively determined that the Community of Solidary Organizations is best equipped to lead a full-fledged program to develop community foundations in their country. Accordingly, over a six-month period, the grantee will create a development plan for such a program. Activities will include: 1) establishing the program’s advisory council, priorities and performance indicators; 2) developing a narrative to best articulate the community foundation concept; 3) discovering territories where there is an interest in establishing community foundations; 4) developing a training plan for local leaders; and 4) creating a three-year program deployment plan.
