About this grant
The Instituto Socioambiental is a Brazilian nonprofit organization focused on integrated solutions to environmental and social challenges in the Amazon region. Over the previous grant period, the grantee worked with local partners and Indigenous people to develop an important alliance to monitor the impacts of large-scale development and ensure compliance with social and environmental standards by the financiers operating or proposing high-risk projects along with the Xingu River basin. Over the next grant period, the Institute will monitor cumulative social and environmental impacts, provide technical support to local communities and develop communications strategies to protect the basin.
