About this grant
Afterschool Alliance works to advance opportunities for afterschool and summer learning programs and ensures that the field’s lessons meet national, state and local education and youth policies. The grantee will continue to: 1) lead the field in meeting the needs of young people in the wake of the pandemic; 2) serve as an information source on afterschool programs and resource for policymakers, programs and educators; 3) be an effective voice in its efforts to expand quality afterschool programs and innovative models; and 4) increase access to research and data on the effectiveness of quality afterschool programs while playing a pivotal role in supporting youth to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. This grant will allow the Afterschool Alliance to continue its efforts to ensure that young people and families — particularly those in underserved populations — have access to engaging afterschool and summer learning opportunities. The Afterschool Alliance will also work with the 50 State Afterschool Network to support afterschool expansion through the American Rescue Plan and other federal, state and local afterschool initiatives.
