About this grant
Founded in 1976, Peckham, Inc., is a nonprofit community rehabilitation organization that provides job training and competitive employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The grantee operates 30 rehabilitation and human services programs in Michigan. In 2019, the grantee expanded operations to the Flint area and has hired 66 individuals of the 200 anticipated. Funding in 2020-21 allowed Peckham, Inc. to develop a customized training curriculum for new employees in Flint utilizing the iStrive program, which is based on cognitive behavioral intervention to reduce barriers for long-term employment. In 2021-22, the grantee will engage with Michigan State University in a comprehensive evaluation of the iStrive program.
