About this grant
The Instituto de Energia e Meio Ambiente is a Brazilian think tank with expertise in energy planning, electrical engineering and environmental law and policy. Over the previous grant period, the grantee contributed technical data and analysis to the implementation of the More Light for the Amazon federal program to expand renewable energy access in the Amazon and developed a robust method for estimating the number of people without access to reliable electricity in the Amazon. During the next grant period, the grantee will build geo-referenced tools to identify and expand renewable energy access for productive economic activity and for decommissioning solar equipment at the end of its lifecycle in the Amazon.
