About this grant
The project goal is to support learning and networking of community justice organizations in Africa. To this end, the Paralegal Advisory Service Institute will continue to host and coordinate the activities of the African Centre of Excellence for Access to Justice with this goal in mind. Past Mott Foundation support has allowed the grantee to: 1) increase its membership; 2) elevate its profile by participating in key regional and international forums on access to justice and sustainable development; 3) collaborate with the African Peer Review Mechanism and Open Government Partnership on people-centered justice in Africa; and 4) strengthen its coordination and management. The project will unlock peer learning, amplify local voices, reinforce African community justice institutions, research people-centered justice in Africa and unlock resources for sustainable financing. The Paralegal Advisory Service Institute is one of the leading community justice organizations in Africa.
