About this grant
The Land Trust Alliance is a national organization of local land trusts that provides technical support, training and assistance to support land conservation, acquisition and protection. With previous support from the Mott Foundation, the grantee provided such services to land trusts in the Great Lakes region working at the intersection of land and water conservation. The grantee also assessed Great Lakes land trusts’ current water protection efforts and identified strategies to increase their impact. Two successful pilot projects were also completed in the region. With renewed support, the Land Trust Alliance will be able to effectively use the assessment results to refine its programming and inform its work going forward to increase land trusts’ capacity to protect freshwater resources.
