About this grant
The Institute for Socioeconomic Studies is a nongovernmental organization established for the promotion and strengthening of representative and participatory democracy in Brazil. Over the past grant period, the organization established itself as a national and international technical reference in monitoring and reporting on fossil fuel subsidies in Brazil, led a coalition of organizations working to curtail the use of natural gas for electricity generation and made progress on strengthening safeguards and responsible exit from harmful projects at the International Finance Corporation — a member of the World Bank Group. A focus on promoting a clean and just energy transition, coalition building and strengthening safeguards will be priority themes for INESC over the next grant period.
