About this grant
Engaging young people in quality service and service-learning opportunities is a proven method to build 21st century skills. This grant will provide continued and increased support to Youth Service America as they continue to push their National Days of Service program to reach more young people — focusing on youth of color and underserved youth — with the opportunity to serve their community. Through the program, Youth Service America funds, trains, and provides additional capacity building for K-12 schools, afterschool programs, nonprofits and community organizations as they support young people in designing and leading service projects. In addition to supporting Youth Service America’s National Days of Service campaign, this grant will continue to support bringing service to the afterschool networks through regranting and network capacity building. The afterschool work is due in part to a multi-organization partnership between Youth Service America, the Afterschool Alliance and the National Youth Leadership Council.
