About this grant
The program goal is to encourage community foundations to advance the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level. To this end, Chicago Community Trust will develop a toolkit for community foundations, fund managers and donors to integrate the goals into their social impact reporting. The grantee will also explore the feasibility of applying the goals to document the holistic impact of community foundations and to communicate that impact to key stakeholders. The grantee will also assess opportunities to incorporate the goals into the way social impact investing is conducted, such as supporting fund managers of color and ensuring transparency with reporting. The Chicago Community Trust is one of the nation’s largest and oldest community foundations. Founded in 1915, its mission is to improve the lives of the people living in metropolitan Chicago, with a long-term organizational priority on closing the racial and ethnic wealth gap.
