About this grant
The Instituto Clima e Sociedade is a Brazilian philanthropic organization that promotes prosperity, justice and low-carbon development in Brazil. Over the past grant period, the grantee worked with Brazilian partners to build the Roraima renewable energy forum, which successfully expanded renewable energy access in the Amazonian state. The organization also supported the planning and implementation of a second Energy and Community Conference, which brought together more than 300 community leaders, energy policy experts, private sector representatives and policy makers to raise awareness and proposal for clean energy access. Over the next year, the organization will develop participatory recommendations for expanding clean energy access and consolidate its lessons learned over the course of this project.
